In this series we will share our favorite items to put in Airbnb units. Outfitting your Airbnb with the essentials is crucial. Airbnb defines essentials as “towels, bed sheets, soap, and toilet paper”.
Here are our tried and true essentials:
Towels are super important. They need to be clean and soft. Everyone loves fluffy towels, but consider the drying time when buying thick towels.
We like Target brand towels. They are soft, fluffy yet quick drying!
We like the mini packs so everyone gets a fresh container:
2) Bed Sheets:
Bed sheets are important. Look for sheets that are soft yet stand up to frequent washing, and drying. We like the affordable:
Pro tip: Microfiber sometimes holds hair (yuck). Pick up some lint rollers to ensure the sheets have hair clinging to them.
The higher end feeling sheets do not have to be expensive. We love these target sheets.
We interpret this essential as hand soap and dish soap in the kitchen, and hand soap in the bathroom. The pump bottles keep things clean and saves money too. The pump soaps tend to last longer than bar soaps that are changed between guests, or soap you pour in your hand or on a sponge.
Bonus points for body wash in the shower. We like Every Body 3 in 1 soap.
5) Toilet Paper
Always check with a plumbing professional when considering toilet paper. It might seem like overkill, but septic systems and old plumbing lines can be delicate. Having guests in your home means the facilities will be used more frequently. Once your plumber tells you want kind of TP to buy, stock up at a wholesale club. We leave at least 2 extra rolls in each bathroom. Extra rolls are kept in a locked closet.
You’re going to need a little more than the essentials to snag 5 star reviews. Stay tuned for more of our favorite items!
